We Are A FULL TIME Professional Entertainment Company With OVER 30 YEARS Of Experience. This is NOT a Part Time Job or Weekend Hobby For Us. We specialize In Weddings and perform at OVER 130 Weddings Every Year! Although We Have Performed at Hundreds Of Weddings, YOUR EVENT Is Treated As A UNIQUE, ONE-OF-A-KIND CELEBRATION And Is Customized To Fit YOUR Tastes And Dreams! No Two Weddings Are Ever The Same! We Have Regular Business Office Hours And Are Available To Meet In Our 1,600 Sq Ft Peterborough Office & Showroom For Both Day & Evening Appointments. We Answer The Phone! This might not be a huge deal today, but it will mean the world to you a couple weeks away from your wedding, if you have any questions.

We have multiple DJs, so we can match up the perfect entertainer to fit with your musical style and preferences. We DO NOT Sub-Contract your wedding out to other DJs or other DJ Companies like so many of our competitors do. ALL of our entertainers are Legal Employees of Absolute Sounds exclusively. Because we only use our own staff, they are all covered under WSIB, so if there is an accident, YOU are covered. In addition to this, we also carry a minimum of $2,000,000 liability insurance. We give you "peace of mind" by having a straightforward written contract for our services. We pride ourselves on our reliability and integrity. We provide Emergency Back-up Sound Equipment On Site for all events at no extra charge. We also have a backup staff member on emergency standby every weekend, so you never have to worry about your entertainer not arriving. All of our music is legal and licensed by the A.V.L.A. (Connect Music Licensing) We are proud members of both The Canadian Professional Disc Jockey Association and the American Disc Jockey Association.

Absolute Sounds would be pleased to have Jerry Hood represent you as your Master of Ceremonies. 
We will coordinate everything for you including the Bridal Party Arrival, Grand Entrance Introductions, Bride & Groom Love Story, Guest Welcoming & Greetings, Dinner Announcements, Speech Introductions, Kissing/Fun Games, Centrepiece Giveaways, Cake Cutting, Special Dances, Garter & Bouquet Toss, and everything else right up to your Final Dance of the evening.

Jerry got his start back in the 80‘s as a DJ / Disc Jockey at Wheelies Family Roller Centre in Peterborough. This was a great launching pad as he gained experience playing to crowds of all ages. From there, Jerry went on to DJ at Club 404 which lead him into hosting a weekly dance radio countdown show on 980 CHEX. Within a couple of months, Jerry became a regular radio announcer, going on eventually to work numerous music formats including Top 40 (980 CHEX), Adult Contemporary (CFMP 101.5), Oldies (980 KRUZ), and Classic/New Rock (WOLF 101.5). Jerry’s love has always been for great dance music which has kept him spinning and DJing at weddings and special events in the Peterborough & Kawarthas area for well over 25 years.

Jerry is not only the Owner of Absolute Sounds and a Master of Ceremonies, but he is also a Certified Wedding Planner with the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada and brings all of his entertainment planning knowledge to your event

  • We will help you build a great timeline for your entire day that makes your wedding flow. We will also coordinate with your other vendors to make sure everyone is on the same page. This includes Venues, Catering, Officiants, Photographers, and anyone else helping you plan your day.

  • If you are using your own MC, we will also give them some helpful tips in advance before your wedding.

  • Access to your own personalized Online Wedding Planner where you can plan everything from the ceremony to the very last dance!Online Music Request Area. Not only can you pick out your "Special Dance" songs in advance, but you can also pick out all the individual songs you love. You can pick out "Must Play", "Play If Possible" or even "Do Not Play" songs. We also have a special "Guest Request" area so your guests can request music before your wedding if you wish. Our DJs are always happy to take requests live at your wedding from you and your guests.

  • We will also help you select music for your Cocktails & Dinner that will match the feel and vibe you are looking for.

On Your Wedding Day:

Additional Options And Add Ons

CEREMONY MUSIC Included or $300 (Different Venue)

Wedding Ceremony Music is available for those getting married at the same venue as your reception. This add on includes music while guests are being seated, Prelude Music, Registry Signing Music & Recessional Music. We supply a second sound system & wireless microphone if the ceremony is held outside or in a different room than the dinner/dance will be held in. Battery powered systems are also available for locations without power. If your ceremony is held at a different location than the reception venue, the cost would be $300

ADDITIONAL SOUND SYSTEM - DINNER OR COCKTAILS - $100

We can supply a second sound system & wireless microphone if music is required outside or in a different room than the dance will be held in. Battery powered systems are also available for locations without power.

DECOR UP-LIGHTING PACKAGE - $400

We can enhance the ambiance of your event with state-of-the-art LED Up-Lighting Effects. Up-Lighting is the latest and hottest trend in event decor. Nothing enhances a room better than well placed lighting. Up-Lighting not only adds a visual beauty to the room, but also enhances the mood during the celebration. Take any formal event to the next level. Up-Lighting can be used in many ways: softening up walls, illuminating flowers and trees, and generally transforming any ordinary room into a spectacular one. Up-Lighting will give your wedding reception an elegant ambiance without costing a fortune. Use of our intelligent LED lights allows us to match the colours of your event and set the appropriate mood and theme for your event.

Make your Head Table look Stunning with Under The Table Decor Up-lighting! Nothing enhances a room better than well placed lighting.

BLISSLIGHT - DANCING UNDER THE STARS - $200

Blisslights are incredible starry sky effect lights that will cover your venue with a mesmerizing, slow moving night sky effect. Thousands of miniature stars at your control. This is the “WOW” effect your guests will remember! The Blisslight creates 1000’s of pinpoints of light that look like stars that slowly move towards and away from eachother creating a slow-moving starry night effect. Behind the stars, the light produces a blue/purple “nebula” that slowly moves, creating a captivating 3-D effect. The perfect effect for creating the feeling of dancing under the stars. The Blisslight works well on drape, walls (both textured and plain), floors, and anywhere that you need a very large, dynamic lighting effect. In event spaces with low ceilings the light gives creates the illusion of the ceiling feeling taller than it actually is.

Make your dance floor come alive by adding our Basic Lighting Package which consists of state-of-the-art LED sound activated lights. A perfect touch to get and keep your guests in the dancing mood.

MONOGRAM - "NAME IN LIGHTS" PACKAGE - $200

Our "Name In Lights" service is one of our most popular lighting services. Since this is 100% customizable, the possibilities are endless what we can do. Typically we feature either a monogram(last name initial in the middle with first initials on each side) or a more elegant portrayal of the Bride & Grooms names with the date of their union. Your custom monogram is projected onto a wall or dance floor.
